Be All My Sins Remember'd
The story against the Replicators races towards its end. When you watch Stargate in chronological order, we have been fighting the Replicators for a really long time. But, the fight is almost done.
I love the team-up with both the Travelers and the Wraith. I love a common enemy uniting old enemies. I love the struggle that comes with creating a machine in human form. There are many memorable moments in this episode: the colonels, Mckay and Radek bickering, Sam standing up for McKay, and more. Sam standing up for Mckay is great because they've had so many bad interactions mostly because Rodney says things he shouldn't.
But, there are two moments that get me every time. The first is when Larrin tells her people to shoot Todd. Sheppard moves to stand in front of Todd. That's great enough, but what's even better, is how quickly Ronon shifts his position so he can back up Sheppard if he needs to. I watched this split-second scene multiple times because it's just so well done. It's so well done that you don't notice it. Ronon without a thought or a command just seamlessly moves so his field of fire doesn't include Sheppard, giveing him the room he needs to defend his people. At the same time, Sheppard doesn't react to Ronon at all. He doesn't have to. He knows Ronon has his back all the way down. The level of trust in that one shift between them is beautiful.
The other is when Sheppard learns Teyla is pregnant. It breaks my heart every time. The agony that passes quickly over his face as he realizes he's not only been putting a child in danger again and again, but Teyla's child, is so hard. I start crying almost immediately. It has been established over and over that Sheppard is good with kids. For a man like that to find out that he's put a child in danger is like a kick in the gut. Not only that, but he feels betrayed by Teyla. She didn't trust him with this vital information for over two months, meanwhile, they've gotten beat, tortured, and stunned along with who knows what else. What if something had happened to the baby?
I love the very real and raw way Sheppard responds to the incredibly difficult situation that he just got handed. It's real. He responds like a frightened and hurt person. You can see the wheels turning in his mind of all the ways Teyla's child could have been hurt in the last three months.
I love Ronon's response too. I think he probably feels a bit like Sheppard, but he also understands that Teyla is still processing the information and so he gives her space and support. He's like a big brother in every way. Ronon's response is the advantage of not being in charge. Sheppard is responsible and feels like he's been kept in the dark which means he's been making bad decisions. Ronon isn't bearing the weight of that responsibility, so he can come along side Teyla.
I love how both men responded, and that they responded differently. But oh holy cow, Sheppard's fear for Teyla and her child, for all that could have happened, is so gut-wrenching.

Rodney and Radek are parents.
Canon.
I'm not joking. They made life together.
They named her ffs.
Don't believe me? Then you don't remember the episode very well.

do you ever think about how season 4 hits john repeatedly in his abandonment issues and he tries so hard to hang on and hang on and hang on but the hits keep coming.
elizabeth sacrifices herself to save them and john isn't allowed to look for her and he's angry but he'll respect it.
ronon gets ready to leave the team and john tries his best to respect that too. but it's hurting him.
rodney wants to sacrifice himself for his sister and john quietly doesn't let it happen.
teyla tells him she's pregnant (something that invariably changes a parent's life in some ways are predictable and some ways that aren't) and john gets nasty about it.
the hits keep coming and john's doing his best but there are Limits. and this happens all in the span of 10 episodes ???
(and let's not forget carson just a bit earlier and teyla getting kidnapped a few episodes later GOSH and the weight of last man holo rodney's faith in him)
idk i just think about it All The Time.

Stargate-Atlantis S4: E11 Be All My Sins Remember'd
Opens losing more civilians and soldiers to the scorched Galaxy strategy of the Replicators.
There's this scene at the beginning where both the Apollos and Dedalus are at Atlantis and Carter makes a passing comment about how they're both here because this is the first time they've ever needed both of them. Sheppard and McKay both glare at her. There have been numerous times they could have used both powerful ships from day one. Carter back peddles. 🤣
The Colonels scene. 🤣
I really don't like that Christopher Heyerdahl isn't playing Todd in this episode. Feels wrong.
Is Larrin better then the Replicators? Depends on her mood. 🤣
Golly, Sheppard and Ronon's choreography just delights me to no end. Ronon is standing in front of Todd. When Larrin goes to kill Todd, in one smooth move, Sheppard steps between Todd and Larrin effectively stepping into Ronon's line of fire. As soon as Sheppard moves between, Ronon moves over to have a clear field of fire. They don't communicate. They anticipate and move. It's absolutely one of my favorite things. Oh, to have big, scary Ronon always guarding your back.
When Teyla finally tells them she's pregnant, Sheppard's "You let me put you out in the field?" comment breaks my heart. We know this man is good with kids, and now he finds out that unknowingly, he's put a child in combat situations. And that Teyla didn't trust him enough to tell him. Man, this whole scene just hurts. Ronon reacts like a big brother and uncle. John is terrified he's put this child in danger and angry that he was put in such a position. He's in command. It is his responsibility. I love both Sheppard's and Ronon's responses.
Also, poor Sheppard has been stunned, tied up by Larrin, benched Teyla (hurt, betrayed, frustrated, and down one member he relies on), and then finds out Rodney built a person.
I love everyone together in the fleet. I love Ronon herding McKay in the beam out as if McKay getting back is his only job, which it is. I love McKay and John getting dinner together while giving each other a hard time.
Good episode.

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.—Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd.
